If we have to propose an adjective that defines the painting of Jesús Fernández, we could say, without fear of being mistaken, that this is the sincerity, the authenticity that emanates from his strokes and his look at an urban landscape treated with care, at Andalusian patios bathed in the sun, always seen as backwaters of peace, as places that will remain in our memory long after we have stopped contemplating them. If we want to go much further in our assessment, what we see when we look at one of his paintings is the spirit of the south, with a clean and serene look that puts in its right place what it sees and feels. With an impeccable technique and a careful drawing he is able to interpret beautiful urban landscapes and immerse us in the nostalgia of the old, as we can see in his doors and gates, where he shows us the nostalgic beauty of the objects that the passing of time has made history. And above all we are surprised by the light, a light impossible to forget, a light that floods our spirit, because if there is one thing J. Fernández has achieved with his painting it is to capture the light, the light of the south. Elvira R. Laso Jesús Fernández is one of those painters who reach the public immediately. Without pretensions, with a direct and clean sincerity. His painting moves and moves immediately. His still lifes bring to life. His still lifes stop the heart's gaze. His little sunny Andalusian streets, in which the light is filled with lust and lucidity, with geraniums, open wide the doors of the intimate eyes to enchantment. Jesús Fernández has a decided vocation as an unrepentant artist. In his oil paintings, happiness is poured out absolutely. He goes where he wants to go. And he is punctual with the solo, like the sun, with the fruits, like beauty and harmony. Valentín Arteaga It is interesting to contemplate the works of this young Sevillian painter and to appreciate his excellent landscapes, as well as his marvellous still lifes of a pure traditional and classic style. Seen in this simple way, the reflection that Jesús Fernández's painting can pose to us, is that art is something other than superficially mimetic, as can be seen in his oil paintings. The pulse of the drawing that runs through his varied scenography of the human being, of the landscape, the resonance - it is the light - that transcends his compositions, the time in which they are stopped, captured, all of this manifests the legitimate plastic conscience that the author is possessed. Observing his paintings one can guess a silent learning, a long search, before finding the way to reality, to give testimony of it. Through his works we perceive the meticulous and almost detailed work to be revived in an environment that brings him closer to what fashion has precisely called "hyperrealism". E. Alvarado Jesús Fernández Romero paints in a direct, classic sense. With a perfect drawing in which his still lifes stand out above all, in which he pays attention to detail and seeks realistic perfection, he also shows himself to be a landscape painter of notorious qualities. A totally figurative painting that the public likes so much. Hence the success of this painter's oil painting collections in various individual and collective exhibitions, which can and should say more in the future.
